But, let's talk about leaving a little later, but for now, let's still look at the photo which species are popular among houseplants.
The most popular type of ruttia with yellow flowers, in Russia it is the most common indoor flower. Flowers are formed from a black head at the base and petals "ears", as shown in the photo below. Such a plant is quite simple to grow at home and form a neat bush from it, pruning cuttings. By the way, this is also done for abundant flowering in the summer. Among other things, yellow ruttia can be grown at home or in open ground as a liana. Some species with yellow flowers may require special support, since the ruttia stems are very flexible and can sag.
As an ornamental plant for the garden, flower growers often grow pink or white ruttia, which are considered a symbol of tenderness and purity. Most often, such a plant can be seen in pots or on the eaves. It is ampelnoy and easily complement the interior. But, pink and white ruttia are currently very rare plants, their seeds are sold for 2-3 pieces per 1 pack, so you need to be as careful as possible when growing them.
In the Internet sources there is quite a bit of information about this amazing tropical plant for growing at home, but you can often find photos of ruttia with pink, red and white flowers. Although the most popular type at the moment is Ruttia fruticosa, this perennial room has inflorescences of bright orange color, sometimes with a touch of red.
Ruttia care at home
In order for ruttia to feel comfortable at home, it is necessary for her to create all the conditions and proper care, only in this way, the plant will delight the grower with its original bloom all year round. To begin with, make sure that Ruttia has a pot with good drainage system and light soil. Often, for planting this flower, they use soil based on coconut fiber, since the perennial is tropical and requires conditions that are at least a bit similar to natural ones.
Many growers say that ruttia is not afraid of either drought or overflow, but this is not always the case; some species of this plant, especially hybrids with an unusual shade of inflorescences, should be watered regularly, but moderately. It is also necessary to trace that the earthen room does not dry out completely, otherwise ruttia will begin to turn yellow and fall off. When watering a plant, you can do fertilizing with complex fertilizers during flowering once a week in 1-2.
This indoor plant should be hidden from direct sunlight. In its natural environment, it grows in the penumbra, which should be provided in the home. But, in the morning for a few hours you can put up in the fresh air in the sun, and at noon before the heat, put it back in its place. It should be said that direct sunshine is not dangerous for ruttia, but with a long stay in the sun the plant can lose its decorative appearance. The leaves of burns may turn yellow and fall off, and flowering will also stop.
Many flower growers form a beautiful bush from ruttia with pruning, it tolerates it very easily, but you should not be zealous. Formation occurs in spring and summer during the active growing season. But, if you decide to grow such a plant as a home liana, then such a procedure may not be necessary, since the stems do not branch much, as can be seen in the photo below.
In winter, a period of relative peace begins, but with proper care and maintenance, ruttia blooms can be observed. To do this, it is enough to observe the temperature regime from 20 to 25 degrees.
